Against all expectations i did it - maybe not with style, grace or pace - but i got there! Still a way off 5k with a rather woeful 8min+ per kilometre though.
Massive thanks to this forum for the support and encouragement (with my, at times, less than positive mindset!) Isn’t it astonishing - the power of shared experience, to make individuals achieve extraordinary things? If only that power could be harnessed - we could change the world...
If i could trouble the experts again, i just need to find some strategies to keeping going.
I know i need to consolidate for a few weeks with 30 minute runs, but wondering if i should aim for 5k and then longer distances without worrying about time, or whether i should concentrate on trying to get 5k done in 30 minutes before moving on to a longer distance.
Any advice gratefully received, as well as any tips on improving my negatively chattering mind whilst running!
