Week 5 run 1 with a break

I was a bit dubious about posting this. I fell off the running wagon last week. I completed week 4 and all was absolutely fine and I was gearing up for week 5 run 1 last weekend but life took over. I don't know why but I just couldn't manage to get my head in gear. I was going to the gym but felt I had lost my rhythm with running.

Anyway this morning I thought I've got to run but didn't know if I should start again from scratch, go back a week or just crack on with where I left off and start week 5.

Mentally I couldn't face going back so went ahead with week 5 and I did it. I couldn't believe it. I feel elated now and back in the zone. It was a blip but if anyone else has this struggle keep going no matter what happens. Even if you take a small break you can get back into it. I'm not sure if this was the right thing to do but it seemed ok. Now let's hope I can do wk5r2 on Monday!

It sounds like you did the perfect thing for you. The body can cope with little breaks and as you progress you will find that rest weeks are very beneficial, don’t beat yourself up, give yours of a massive pat on the back for getting out there today. Well done.
