W1R1 and chuffed!

Finally ran out of excuses and went for it tonight my first run.... ever. Officially the most exercise I’ve done since school, 60sec of running was about my limit mind my calves were burning but my breathing was a lot better than I thought it would be. Can’t believe 30mins of walking-running-walking can make me feel so chuffed with my self.

Well done, getting started is the hardest thing. You deserve to feel chuffed with yourself, trust me it's a feeling you'll experience more and more, so enjoy it.

That’s the worst over, it only gets better and better.....😁

Great stuff!

I’ve just finished Week 1 having, like you, never ever run before. In fact I didn’t know if I could physically lift my legs up to get to a light jog. It was a mental, not a physical barrier though.

I think it’s a marvellous programme if it can get even people like us to conquer our fears.

Onwards!

Well done!!! It is an amazing feeling isn’t it?? I’m a newbie myself, but every run brings a common feeling. A little apprehension beforehand followed by enormous satisfaction afterwards. Graduation 🎓 must be so amazing!

Thanks for all the support, is there an app to help you get your legs into the car when they’re aching.

Another first today as well, managed to sleep through my alarm so I’m running around more getting the kids and me ready than last nights run!

Well done this programme really works. 8 weeks ago I was where you are and am about to start week 9. Keep going. You can do it

Well done you. We are starting week nine on Sunday. (But we have done 30 minutes instead of 28 this week!)

Remember this first week. Remember that you are aching and that 60 seconds is a long time. Why? Because when you are on week five and you have done two lots of 8 minutes on two days and it seems to jump massively to 20 minutes for the last in week five, look back and see just how far you have come. Just how different you feel running longer to what you feel like in week one.

So on that 20 minute run in week five, look back and know "I can do it!"
