Just thought I'd drop by and say I've started my journey of getting more healthier and building my fitness levels by taking my first steps....

I'm a little unfit so even after a minute of running I was happy for the walking part to kick in.

However, I've completed the first run, even if I'm a little out of breath!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Woo! Go you, it might have been a struggle but you managed it, just keep going with the plan and you'll be doing more than you realise you can. Good luck and stay safe especially if you have snow about ☺️

Thanks for the encouragement!

Good luck. This is a very good programme and I'm astonished at how far it has taken me considering how unfit I was. I'm currently on week 6. 😊

Well done on starting C25k ckp82 👏🏻👏🏻 it’s a great programme and it does work.,

You mentioned you felt out of breath. Next time you go out, try to relax and take the running parts nice and slow. Try to get your breathing into a steady rhythm, take a nice deep breath in through your mouth (not too quickly) then purse your lips slightly as you exhale. Imagine your body is like a machine and the oxygen your taking on board is your fuel. That way you won’t feel so out of breath.

Good luck 👍
