Go back to week 1. Could you see yourself running for 25 mins (any distance) back then?
The time you do the RFL will be the time you do it in. Putting a time pressure on yourself is great if it motivates you but dangerous if it discourages you. Don’t cling to a time but aim to complete non-stop.
And by July, based on the progress of the past 7 weeks, anything is possible!
Try not to get hung up on speed - as others have said it's how long you're running for that counts.
I literally cannot believe I can run for 28 mins! I do a long drive on a Wednesday night and half an hour in I thought "yesterday morning I ran for this amount of time - non-stop!!". It's staggering really to think back to how hard the early weeks were.
Definitely don't get hung up on your time, that is something that will naturally improve with more running. The funny (not really) thing is that you will probably not find running getting easier but that will be because you are naturally running for longer and getting faster with it. Just keep going you will get there!
You’re in the same space and at the stage stage in this program as I am, if it helps in the 25mins today I did 2.14miles I’m fine with it plus at the RFL which I’m also doing in July you’ll find it he energy on the day pulls you along, fear not we’ve got this x x
I think that it is probably unlikely that you will be able to run 5k in 30 minutes by July given your current pace. However you will definitely be able to run 5k by then and maybe even further, if you keep on training. So focus on that and forget about speed. Otherwise you may be disappointed when in fact you should be PROUD!
