I’m intrigued to know who everyone else has chosen for their C25K App trainer? I’ve chosen Sarah! Her voice is quite soothing and encouraging but sometimes I feel like I need her to shout at me to get on with it! If only she knew I’d repeated the weeks over and over for fear of moving on!! 😂
Who have you chosen and why??? Xx

Started with Sarah. Lovely but lacked oomph. Tried laura on the podcast but couldn’t stand the music. Back to the app with Michael but I always felt he would rather be somewhere else. Then on to Jo Whiley and we’ve been happily running together for about a month now. Hopefully jo will see me through to graduation!
Yes I agree about Sarah! Maybe I’ll try Jo, I like Jo! I need a marine or similar to shout at me really! Maybe they should record one for the App update??? 😂 good luck, you must be nearly done are you?
I started out with Sarah, and we got along really well, not a big fan of Michael, and Jo is ok, but I like watching Sarah’s tv programs, so I picked her. But I have a massive iPhone and didn’t have any pockets to carry it in and decided I didn’t really need the extra weight 😆 so I bought a tracking watch that can store music and play back on wireless headphones, so I’ve dumped Sarah in favour of Laura and her downloadable podcasts. I did feel a bit like I was cheating on Sarah to start with, but that only lasted a couple of runs😬
He's a serious guy, so not a lot of laughs but he isn't going to put up with any messing about. I'm just glad he can't actually see me shuffle along though...... 🙄
I found Sarah a bit quiet so eventually changed to Michael. I feel he spurs me on a bit more and gives helpful tips (maybe they all say the same thing but I don't know!) At week 7 now so think I'll be sticking with him. And i figure he is an Olympic runner so should know what he's talking about!
I've just started and have chosen Sarah. However, my name is Sarah and I found myself swearing at Sarah 1 or 2 times when she asked me if I was ready to run so to any passers by who know me it would sound like I'm talking to myself 😂 so may have to change it
I had a similar ‘crazy running lady’ moment last week- tried News Quiz Extra podcast through my wireless earphones (covered by my hair) and was laughing to myself as I ran. Then realised some children were watching me 😂
I went with Michael and stuck with him all the way through and tonight i’m doing W6 R2. I figured as he was a runner he would inspire me more to keep going and he has 😁
I have Sarah I like her cause she sounds like an encouraging mate and I need that at the mo!! I may change as weeks get harder and I need that kick in the pants 🤓
Sarah because she represents a larger lass and I can imagine her slogging it out with me step by step. Sometimes I wish she would natter more telling one of her stories. She also would like my music I think or at least say maybe the funeral march is slightly too slow paced!
I use Sarah (I need to tell you that my iPhone initially corrected my attempt to write Sarah to ‘Satan’) for reasons similar to Caro71. I choose to believe she did the programme before agreeing to voice it.
But yeah, I would like a setting to change the amount Satan(!) or any other coach pipes up with encouragement, tips, or stories. They can help the time fly, if nothing else cos you’re thinking “shut up so I can get back to my podcast!”
Although it makes it a little harder for me to listen to her on the radio - my feet get twitchy. This is why I didn’t choose Sarah.
My perfect coach would be Kirsty Young of Desert Island Disks etc fame. Gorgeous voice. Once I’ve graduated I will run to DID podcasts mainly for her voice.
I started with Sarah, but I didn't realise in the early weeks it would just be repeated. If you could've seen my face on W1R2 when she said at the end "you need to complete this run another twice this week"...I thought I'd repeated the first run by mistake and was genuinely raging! Lol. After another round of repeats I started changing the settings after the first run, so I'd start R1 with Sarah and then choose another 2 randomly. I also tried the podcast so had Laura for one run, but really didn't like the music which I found demotivational if anything. Went back to the app and did W7R1 last night with Sanjeev, and Electric Dreams was my music of choice - it was fabulous! I think I'll always mix it up when it comes to the voiceovers even though it gets less repetitive when the individual runs kick in, but that's just me, I have a short attention span! Whatever you do, I wish you well and hope you find your happy place.
I have Jo. I chose her because I knew she runs and I knew she had also done the C25K so she knew what she was talking about. When she says ‘I know how you feel’ she actually does! She’s very encouraging. I also like her on the radio too. Although now she’s teamed up with Simon Mayo (on the radio not the app 😂) I’m not so sure 😂
I'm with Jo, and really like her voice. However now that I've started going outside I run with just the Apple Watch (can't be bothered to carry the phone) and so have to do with no app or podcast, instead just have the Strava voice thing telling me the distance/time every now and again.
Michael. Although I don't hear him. My control freak sister likes to be in charge of the app so she holds my phone and relays to me what he is saying!!
I took the whole run nice and easy,I felt a bit sore on my right shin at the half way mark but concentrated on my music whilst thinking every step was a step closer to completing the 20 mins
Yey Jo-Jo that’s amazing, well done!! If I do it tomorrow then I too will do a happy dance!!! 😂 nervous but excited for tomorrow! Thank you! I’ll keep you posted xx
Jo is great - really motivating. I’m a second time round C25k’r (due to injury) I picked Jo first time - second time thought I’d have someone different- but after a couple of runs reverted back to Jo coz the others just weren’t doing it for me!!
