Run 3 of week 9 done! C25K program completed!

A couple of hours ago I ran my third run of week 9. So, I have officially completed the program now!

It was a really good run today. My feet and legs felt light and quiet and my breathing was fine. I had a hint of stitch off and on through the entire run, and managed to get the mother of all stitches on both sides with one minute left. That minute was not all that enjoyable, but it was only a minute, so I pushed on to get the full 30 minutes of running done. Other than that, the run really was great. Plus, the lilacs are blossoming right now, so the air had a really lovely scent to it.

It felt, perhaps a little anticlimactic, because while I'm super impressed with myself for sticking with it, I've already decided that running is something I'll be continuing. It will stay a part of my life, so I'm not really "done" with the program. This was just the completion of one leg of the journey. That sounded a little bit hippie-ish... Did that make sense to anyone besides me?

Running has become a habit I guess, and since I've been swamped with deadlines for a little while now, I sometimes had two or three days go by between runs. And let me tell you, I was super antsy and really felt like I needed to run off some energy and do something with my body and give my poor brain a rest after three days.

I'm aiming for sticking to running for 30 minutes for at least a couple of weeks now, before I might start trying out the post C25K podcasts and then later on adding a few minutes to my runs.

I wish all of you our there all the best and thanks to everyone that have encouraged me with wise and thoughtful words along the way! I've included a picture of the lush trees I see on my runs.

Happy running!

Thank you! I can't say I didn't think I could do it, but since I'm usually bad at follow through, I'm a bit impressed that I persevered and kept at it 😊.

Well done Nenenene! I’m still on week 4 but have missed some runs this week with an ear infection! Antsy is the perfect way to describe how I’ve felt too. You’ve definitely inspired me to keep going and not give up. Good luck with your future runs x

Thank you! Yes, ear infections are not fun at all, I hope it clears up soon for you.

Ah, week 4. I had some issues with that one, but I re-ran a couple of runs and then I defeated that week as well. I'm sure you'll be able to finish it as well.

Just don't be sad if you feel like you have to run the same run a couple of times (at any time in the program) to be ready to move on (like I did). All the runs you run are working on building up your stamina, and that's progress.

Happy running to you as well!

Congrats for finishing. I'm just starting on week 9 and completely get what you're saying, it's quite addictive and although very hard, very rewarding too. I haven't felt this good in years. Good luck with your next steps.

Congratulations that's amazing. Looks such a cool place to run too nice and shaded like we need

Thank you! Yes, the other bits of my run are not as shaded, so I really enjoy getting to the shady parts to cool down my super flushed face a little 😊.
