Recovery from Tendonitis

Hi there!

I’ve been struggling with Achilles pain since starting, but during wk3 r1 it was so bad I was running with a limp. Basically woke up with one heel very swollen - diagnosed with Tendonitis and told not to weight bear until a follow-up appointment next week.

I’m devastated as I’m doing the C25k with a running group and they will all be weeks ahead of me. I have 2 questions:

How long will it take for me to be able to run again?

Will I likely have to go back to wk1?

Thanks for any help 😞

I had knee tendonitis and could not run for 6 weeks, if you do not let it heal fully you will just continue to have problems, you will more than likely have to start a fresh, i had been running for 6 months when i had to stop for 6 weeks, when getting back to it i started with a run/walk and i had lost quite a lot of fitness. Recover fully then start again, you can do it :)

Oh dear - I was hoping just a week on crutches would do it 😞

Sorry to hear you had it too - but glad you are back on your feet!
