W3R2 later today. First week shins hurt then fine, second week above knees hurt now better, but towards end of 2nd week inside leg knee but hurts, feel like I've run a marathon before I start. Got good trainers, gait checked after 1st run. Will this just get better like the other pains? Dreading my run today...

I'm no expert however I'd suggest keep going and take it easy. Like you, the I had various aches and pains early on and even now one of my knees is a bit "hot" but working the joints and muscles will make them stronger, just don't over do it. You know your body and although it's a 9week program you can take short breaks. I ran w6r3 today, at the start I was a 53yr old slipping into middle age spread, who hadn't run for more than a minute for 40years. Honestly, I didn't think I had the commitment or will power but here I am, a runner

Thank you, I've not run since school ( long time ago I'm 55), hopefully call myself a runner too soon. I've got to keep going, will take it easy though, as I want to run the London Marathon next year!

Week 3, woohoo! Two solid weeks behind you.

Think it might be best to let the pain subside before you head back out? If aren't sure what's going on (i.e. a diagnosis from a physiotherapist or sometimes you're able to figure it out from looking online, but be cautious with self-diagnosis) continuing to run on it could turn it into a more serious injury that stops you running. Spend some time here and you'll start to see posts that read something like "was having an issue, kept running anyway because it was tolerable, and now I'm injured and can't run until it heals"... I tend to play things on the safe side as a result. Taking a break when you've gained momentum is certainly no fun, but from your description of it feeling quite sore before you start running, might be best to let it calm down?

I have a knee issue and strengthening exercises and extra rest days (5 in a row at one point) helped it. Here is a link:
