Do people count the 5 min warm up & down as part of their running distance? I'm on w8r1, and managing to do 4k, but adding the warm up/down onto it. Not sure if that's a good time or not?

You don’t need to consider distance at this stage.

Running time is running time.

Walking time is walking time.

I’ve been wondering the same every time people mention their distance. I do count the warm up/warm down as I switch the MapMyRun app on as I leave the house before putting my phone away. Managed about 3k on W5R3 yesterday.

I would say, it doesn’t matter. We all are just finding the joy of running, just enjoy that!

The time will come when it may matter, for now it’s just such a good feeling to be able to keep up with the program.
