Sunday morning running

wk5 r 1 done :) feeling really good

It's been an eventful morning, I had to stop 2 mins in during the brisk walk warm up to answer the ' where am I, how do I get there ' query of the driver who pulled up beside me, so I restarted pod cast after that chat.

I changed my route and ran down to the next village, some drivers seem to have no concept of how vulnerable you are, anyway, discovered i have a sprint speed lol for crossing roads at a diagonal :) turned off to quieter lanes, sent a dog into a barking frenzy in his garden :) walking now and chatted with a lovely older lady leaving the church who was very encouraging, running again I've waved and 'mornin'd with 5 cyclists, turned after second run and headed back the way I'd come - I'd come a long way from home! - finished the last 5 min run joining the main road again and had about a 15 min warm down, not that brisk, walk to do to get home!

I really enjoyed myself this morning, it's a beautiful day, warm and I need a new running top :) ( been wearing a thermal breathing base layer but it's too warm now) I think a croissant for late breakfast and a little Internet shopping is required :)

Great post - I always like hearing how you've got on as you're on the same week as me :)

I'll be doing week 5 run 1 tomorrow, just been out to the local park to see my route, it will be the first time I've done the programme outside, not on the treadmill, really looking forward to it.

Hope you enjoyed your well deserved croissant and shopping!

Sounds lovely - I've only run on the treadmill so far but I'm thinking I might get up early next Sunday to join a local beginners running group as a way of giving myself a push to run outside.

Thanks all. I decided I was a bit impatient for Internet shopping so took the drive into to Town to sports direct and got myself a White and Berry coloured Karrimor proper running top for £10 bargain :) long sleeved still, as not quite sustainable t shirt weather just yet lol

Sounds great :) You seem to live in a very friendly place, no one waves at me, I get the odd sympathetic smile and nod but no waves :( I see a couple of chirpy doggies on my usual route though who bounce up and down, barking when I run past..never fails to make me smile :)

Anyway, You seem to be really enjoying your runs and that is what it's all about so, well done you! x
