Yeah, slow down. You must be able to hold conversation while running, that shows you if you are fast or slow.

Your slow may not be my slow so l can't suggest any 'speed' but simply make sure you slow down as much as possible and your breathing will stabilise.

As time goes by and you get more accustomed to running your speed will increase and breathing will follow. We've all been through that.

The first time I started to run I joined a 'learn to run for women' group. We were told to run and be able to hold a conversation at the same time. Of course as women we embraced the notion of having a chat 😀😀😀Honestly, we sounded like a gaggle of geese coming down the street! It was quite funny, we were so noisy and caused a bit of a commotion, people would stop and stare at us.

If you can't talk at the same time then you are not breathing right and must be running too fast.

I learned early on that I was not a racehorse (silly me, a look in the mirror should have told me that), I am a trotter.

Hope this helps.

I find having head phones in with my music turned up helps me... I always sound worse than I feel! If I can hear myself then I concentrate on my breathing to much and it all goes wrong! Lol.. if I can’t hear myself then I find it comes more naturally! Xx
