This was my best run yet. It was a bit cooler and it really made a difference. I have decided to approach each run with a sense of curiosity... How has my fitness improved? Has my cardio become easier? How does it feel to run for X-minutes? To take it all in my stride... All the runs went surprisingly well. I had more steam left at the end of all the runs so I jogged on a little longer after the second 5 minute run... just because I could.
Another cool day. Ok, it was 25 degrees again, but with heavy cloud I wasn't running in full sun like all previous runs, and a beautiful breeze (read: storm force gale) was roaring up the harbour. I've dumped Laura for the moment in favour of Oldwheezer's suggestion of the Boot Camp app. Total game changer. I was half wishing I had a rifle to hold over my head as I shuffled around the park chanting after the drill instructor. Had such a great time with it and really enjoyed the running. So much so that I ran on for an extra three minutes after the second 5 minute run. Booyah! 8-minute run, Sir! 💪
Full sun, a ridiculous 91% humidity, and another bad night's sleep had me a bit worried about today's run. Was up and about at 1.30am, popping Nurofen for my shoulder, and swinging it around like an orangutan to try to ease the discomfort. The pain is really wearing me down. I lay listening to husband's snoring for an eternity, my frustration and despair growing exponentially to the volume of his snorting. 😩 Plus I'd taken yesterday's 'rest day' in the literal sense, on the couch binge-watching Legends of Tomorrow. With junk food for supper. 🍔 Total sloth but season two done!
The run wasn't great. Was overly hot before I even left the apartment, was sweating just sitting in the study reading posts here online. Couldn't get my breath properly the whole time and just felt overheated. But finished all the runs. I accept there will be good days, and days that are not as good; it is what is it, Grasshopper. Some lessons learned about ensuring I'm cool before I leave home (doh, obvious huh?). Week 4 done and interested to see how I travel through week 5 🏃♀️
