I can’t believe I did it!

I ran for the first time since I was in primary school, only run 2 completed today. Knowing that I did run one and run two makes me determined to do run 3 and more. It was difficult and at times I kept thinking why?? Then i continued, kept breathing and kept reminding myself that I can do it. My legs feel like lead tonight but on Monday I’ll be out to do run 3!!

How are you getting on with wk 2? I've done my first one. I've got muscles in my legs I didn't know I had that are aching!

I’ve just did the 1st run of week 2 this morning, it wasn’t too bad. Broke a sweat and that usually only happens on holidays because of the heat.

Lol! I'm doing this so that when I break a sweat lying on a sun lounger on holiday, I'm feeling a whole lot better in my swimsuit! I'm not finding week two too bad,I went out this morning too. wk3 might be a WHOLE different story - 3 mins! 😂

I too completed my second run yesterday. As my name suggests I’m not a youngster, well on in my 50s. 2 of my kids adore their running and I’ve been keen to try it for ages. Gradually accumulated all the gear and last week finally got down to it. Foolishly picked a route which meant the first 3 minutes were on an upward slight slope so found that very hard. Now I don’t feel so shy being out there I’ll pick a more sensible route, certainly when I get to week 2.

I’ve been so ridiculously proud of myself that I’ve finally started to do this and I’m sure I’ll continue. I’ve found reading the chat inspirational so thought I needed to join in!

Look forward to hearing how you do whoknew2018!!

That’s brilliant- no pain no gain, I’ve found a route now that suits me! I’m in my 40s and I swear I’ve never exercised in my life so to do this is a big step for me! Good luck in your running journey 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Well Done 👍. Each run you achieve will amaze you. You have done the hardest but , just starting the programme. It’s not easy but it’s definitely doable. I too have never run before, and have somehow got to W9 at the age of 60. 😀🏃‍♀️

That first week was a killer for us! But we are on week seven now doing 25 minute runs. If anyone had suggested that we could do this by just following a simple program? Well, I wouldn't have believed it. But here we are, from nearly collapsing after a minute run to twenty five minutes and could go further... We ran in France on holiday in March, at Cheddar yesterday. Early morning, nothing better. (Except maybe ice cream!) Go on, surprise yourself...

That’s exactly how I feel, never thought I’d run 60secs as running up stairs is tough lol. Thank you for your kind words and good luck 😊🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
