Help on listening gear please

Ok just about to start couch to 5k but can't find my old iPod. So as my phone Is bulky what would be best thing to buy to download app plus music to to start listening to please? Budget including earphones would be about £50. I always had problems with uncomfortable ear phones when I used my iPod years ago, so recommendations on ear phones would be appreciated too thank you!

I think you will need a smartphone or tablet to run the app. You could use the podcasts, but then you cannot play your own music. Sports earphones, which loop over your ear tend to stay in better than standard ones.

There are details of app and podcasts in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Enjoy your journey.

You could buy a waist or arm belt for your phone when you are running?

Hi, I put my phone in my raincoat pocket when I started which worked out well. When the weather got warmer, I put my phone in a running belt round my waist which is ok too. Happy running x

Oh, and I get sore ears from the wind v easily so always wear a sweat/head band thing which covers my ears when running. It has the added benefit of keeping the earphones in too! x

We have 2 Starwood sport flip belt (11.99 amazon)copies. I think they are great holds my keys, iphone, gtn spray plus plenty room left - no buckles and sit near against body. I use anker soundtag (20.00 Amazon) Bluetooth earbuds - no issues with them falling out. My wife has a pair of these and uses them too find them comfier than the stock earphone that apple provide.

I also highly recommend getting a flip belt, so much easier. As for earphones, I bought cheap as chips wireless ones from Groupon. Logic was if these worked ok and I actually used them off invest in a good pair. Still researching to upgrade but nothing has a very good rating on Amazon in my price range. So I've stuck with the cheapies and they've never let me down.

I always take my phone- for safety too. I remain with an iPhone 5s as it’s small enough to fit into the zip on my running trousers.
