I am having trouble with my ear buds they keep falling out. I have to wear my hat to keep them in. But as the warmer weather arrives I can’t really use my warm hat.
Has anyone got any ideas please

Would a headband just over the ears help? Just a bandana-type thing?
I use the aeropex earphones and have no trouble. They're a bit expensive but I love them.
Duct tape?
I use 'Shokz Open run pro' these days however prior to that I used to use these with over ear hooks .
Wireless Earbuds, Wireless... amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BCQ93Q7K?...
I’m using the wrap around plugs now-a-days, and mine came with some super long charging box.
Mine are the “JLab GO Air Sports”
Not as costly as Shokz, but for me great alternative!
Another huge fan of Shokz here. I’ve got the mini version which often suits women better because they’re smaller. I absolutely love them. The ability to hear traffic as well as music is a game changer for me on rural lanes a lot,
I use shokz too much better than ear buds for running in my opinion.
I always use a headband as I have tried every variant of earphones over the years! The warmer the weather, the lighter the headband, so for the really warm days, I have one which is a headscarf that turns into a headband - I got mine from Tesco but there are loads on Amazon.
Mine look very similar to CBDB’s above. Even sweaty marathon training I had no problems with them. I only usually wear one at a time, so I can hear my surroundings.
You may find when it gets hot even a headband can be annoying, for a lighter version you could cut a couple of inches off a buff.
Those suggestions aside, do your ear buds fit properly? The squidgy silicone part may need replacing with the next size up or down so they fit snuggly (so are neither too loose not too tight a fit), they may stay in on their own then. Apologies if you’ve already tried this.
I tried earbuds and found them a complete pain for exactly the same reason. These do the job brilliantly - there's a fixed band which goes around the back of the neck, and they sit lightly on your ears, hooking over the external ear. They're not noise cancelling so you can hear what's going on in the real world. I use them pretty much by default now.

I use these and they're great - sound is good but can hear traffic, very comfy to wear and they never budge!
Ear buds not a good idea for road running, if thats what you do? I find bone conduction phone such as AfterShokz work best. As they are bone conduction it leaves your ears free to chat or hear cars. They are AAA approved for road running. Oh and they don't drop out because they are never in.
I used shocks but I thought I lost a set and went looking on Amazon for replacement. I got a set that I thought were bone conduction but are over the ear instead. They are called SoundPEATS Run free Lite. They still allow you to listen out for traffic and the sound quality is very good and they were only 35 pounds.
Same!I wear a hat throughout the cold weather. In warmer weather I wear a buff as a headband. It also keeps my ponytail from slipping down onto my neck, so an added bonus 🤣
awww thank you guys I have bought some that go around the ears but it’s been awful weather so not been able to test them without my hat 😂
Plus I did my first run on the road yesterday as there was a tree fallen on the running track and I only put one ear plug in.
Wow I think the bone ones would be fantastic for outdoors runs on the street.
I have to say I did enjoy the run more than I thought I would
