Spring in my steps

Having run a bit of a gruelling 8k after work on Thursday I decided on a gentle 5k this morning. I can't believe how different this route (that I first ran just before Christmas) has changed after this lovely weather.

Barren hedgerows and muddy tracks transformed by delicate masses of cow parsley, leaves and grass that bright green you only get as spring is just ... well ... springing and those amazing candlesticks you get on horse chestnut trees. Oh and squirrels and loose chickens too.

And despite feeling like a gentle run Strava tells me I ran my best time over this route ever. Obviously got a spring in my step too!

A fantastic start to the Weekend! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hmmmm. Sounds lovely.

I was running last week and saw a peacock running along the pavement just ahead of me. He thought I was chasing him and didnโ€™t veer off the pavement but he was panicking more and more as I was determined not to let him disturb my stride. I managed to pass him by and then I doubled back and had to chase him again. Once past I continued with my 5km.

When I got home, exhausted, I actually wondered whether I really did see a peacock or whether Iโ€™d just been hallucinating.....๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Aah.. it does look lovely now Deb. Well done on your 8k, and its surprising how a longer run often improves your performance at 5k without you feeling the effort...

Have a lovely weekend ๐Ÿ˜Šx

Hmm - the mod week 8k was tough - it certainly didn't feel like it was improving anything at the time ๐Ÿ˜‚ (except maybe my perseverance).

Was good today though.

You have a great weekend too - limiting my activity to gardening now.

Very well done on your PB.

Interesting result, distance run, followed with pace improvement.

Good luck with the garden, since this running malarkey has kicked off, garden has gone walk about.๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿค”.

I am impressed.๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I say garden - over grown wasteland might be more accurate - definitely time to take it in hand ๐Ÿ˜Š

Since I have taken up the C25k programme and running I have been spared by the long winter this year.

For years my garden was frightened to grow lawn, shrubs , hedges and trees, it would get cut.๐Ÿ˜‚Terrified not a blade of grass out of place.๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚

Now the garden can relax and do as it pleases, well not totally, I have still to keep up with a job list that keeps getting longer.๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Happy running days๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
