Yesterday was the Bruised Not Broken "Walk For Life - " a 10 km walk/run to raise money for a local cancer charity. And I did it. The true distance turned out to be almost 11km, but who cares? I ran for 30 minutes, and just as I was about to start the warm down walk, I saw the half way point, just a few metres away - so I carried on. Checked Strava, and there it was - 5.2 km. The walk back didn't feel half as bad as I thought it would! Came in second (Obviously it wasn't a race, but still!!) and it was an amazing feeling.
The only downside? It didn't start til almost 10:30, and it was bloody hot! Scarlet nose and shoulders, but a small price to pay!
Thanks to all who wished me luck!
(The photo is from the half way point, looking back to where I was heading - around that sticky out bit and along a bit!)
(And if you look closely, the faint grey bit between the palm tree and the buildings is actually Benidorm....)
