So started the programme 5 weeks ago and still surprised the progress we can achieve from it.
I’m a 20st guy who has dabbled in the past with diets (used to be 23st 2 years ago) but when it comes to exercise I’ve always struggled especially as I have mild asthma too.
Yesterday I managed the 20 min run albeit going at a slow jog however what has impressed me the most is that I am having no problems at all with my breathing (only when I sit down after a warm down)
From struggling in week 1 to run a minute to running for 20 mins after 5 weeks I have nothing but praises for couch to 5k.
This is my first post and I hope someone else in my situation reads this

Amazing, I'm a couple of runs behind you, reading your progress definitely gives me hope that I'll be able to do the twenty minutes.
I'm another very slow jogger, but I don't mind I know I'm getting there eventually, although the other day a woman ran past me with a pushchair 😲 now that's dedication.
Well done! I’m in a similar boat to you. Overweight, unfit and started the c25k a month ago today. Going for w5r3 tomorrow and a month ago I’d have said it was crazy to even dream of running for 20 mins without stopping. Well hopefully, like you, I’ll prove myself wrong! Good luck with the rest of the plan!
Fantastic achievement and you will keep feeling better and better the programme really works! I am very overweight and spluttered and puffed through week 1in February and can't believe I have now graduated! I still shuffle along but I don't puff any more, and I hope to gradually work up to 5k. well done you!
Well done! I'm at the same stage as you, and am slightly asthmatic (not on medication at mo). I tried the breathing technique on the app (4 counts in & 4 out) but got me in a state lol, the best advice I read on here is let the breathing sort itself out - and it did. Good luck
