I have discovered that turning my music up loud really helps get me through as long as i don’t listen to the same tunes over and over.
Currently on shuffle: Heroes, David Bowie;
Don’t get me wrong, Pretenders; Small town boy, Bronski Beat; Strange overtones, David Byrne; The road to Nowhere, Talking Heads; I will survive, Gloria Gaynor; Every Breath you take, Police; Reach out and I’ll be there, Four Tops; Eye of the Tiger, Survivor; Born to run, Bruce Springsteen, Long train running, Doobie Brothers; Freedom, George Michael; Get up, James Brown.....
It’s a constantly evolving list, and depending on the length of the run, i try to stick something cheesy and motivational around 15-20 mins in!
On a tv programme last night i heard Free, Wishing well - that might appear soon too...
I use electronic (house, trance) podcasts, a couple being: Above and Beyond: Group Therapy and CLUBLIFE.
I've just been talking to my daughter about playlists. Now the runs are getting longer (I'm about to finish W4) I need to sort mine out. Never run for longer than 4 mins b4 this so my playlist kept time with that. I used to do walking/running combos. Then I had to give up for a year & I changed my phone & lost iTunes from the computer. Had to start again. I've got some - what my daughter calls "banging tunes" but I need to get the ones I like best together for the longer runs. I always play "fight song" on my way home - I finally feel like I'm running again. I was worried I'd never get back to it but I'm determined to overcome my health problems & beat this.
Well done on getting back in to it! There is a big difference between what my son and I consider "banging tunes" ha! ha! I don't think I would be able to complete a run with his music in my headphones, too depressing. But always good to hear what others listen to as I will be updating my list in a week or so . . .. .
Yes - precisely! She played me some music from Spotify but I wasn't convinced! I will work on it this weekend. I like house music to run to - I need a beat that keeps me motivated.
