Week6 run 2 in the rain

Well with the best of intentions I set my alarm last night for 7.00am fully intending to do my run first thing then I had plenty of time for stretches and bath before I took my lovely Mimi tabbycat to the vets for her boosters. Soooo..... alarm goes off...... I switch it off..... and then it’s 8.30. Vets appointment is 9.30 so not enough time for my run before we went so just grabbed a quick shower and breakfast and off we went.

Vets all done, Mimi boostered right up ( and told off a little as she’d put on half a kg) and back home again. And my day was busy with loads of housework and my sister was coming after lunch so I didn’t get chance to run until after 5 and by then it was grey and drizzly.

I usually run using my Garmin watch for timings but today I also used the podcast and Laura to take my mind off the running. It was a bit awkward as I started them at the same time but not realising that Laura waffles a bit first so my watch started 1 1/2 minutes before Laura’s warmup walk so I ended up timing from my watch and listening to Laura’s music.

Apart from the weird thing where my heart rate really peaked on my final Cooldown walk, it went really well and although I was trying to keep my speed down a bit so I actually finished without flaking out, I actually managed to set a couple of PBs on certain segments and shave a few seconds a mile off my time.

Looking forward to run3 now. 25 minute run .......Whoohoo!!!
