Was feeling confident this morning after having completed W6R3 on Sunday, it still took me a while to get out of bed though (but I did, which is the important part).
One striking thing that really showed the difference that this programme is making, was that hubby and I actually had a conversation whilst I was running – now on week one I could hardly breathe let alone talk, so gently jogging along and talking at the same time is a HUGE difference. It also really made the time go quicker.
The other thing, that I’ve been developing a theory about for a while, is that I don’t think I’ve warmed up “properly” until about the half way point, as the first part is much more “shuffle jog” as I warm up and the blood starts flowing, and the second half really feels more comfortable, and I can pick my feet up a little more and “run”. I also think I’m getting slightly faster – I won’t be challenging Paula Radcliffe (even in retirement) at any point, but somehow I managed to shave 15 seconds off my fastest km split (the last one) which I’m really happy about!
Looking at the weather forecast, tomorrow looks rainy and Thursday looks like it should be nice, so well (unintentionally) planned that I’ve got W7R2 on Thursday morning!
