Disappointed not defeated!

So today was going to be R2W2 but due to chest infection and vertigo I was unsure wether to do it.

I finished a nightshift at 7am this morning and had planned to do it on the way home as I did last week but it's chucking down with rain and my feet are killing me so my mind was made up for me.

I'm disappointed not to do it today and am worried that skipping too many days this early on will ruin my bit of progress.

I'm thinking I'll try and pick up where I left off but if I can't do it I'll repeat week one.......is this a good idea though?

Sorry you are not feeling great. I definitely wouldn’t run today. Sounds like you need to rest . A few days rest won’t matter and if you need to you could just repeat a week 1 run. But I think you will be fine with continuing W2

Rest well

Vertigo is never nice and a chest infection as well doesnt help. But when you dont want to run is the time when you need to force yourself out there. Just think to yourself 'It is only 30 minutes'. How quick does 30 minutes pass when you are flicking through social media or Youtube etc. Plus I can GUARANTEE you will feel so much better about yourself once you have completed it.

No. Never run with a chest infection. Above the neck, run, below the neck, don't is the rule.

Somebody else advised this too so thanks. I will have a couple of days break to let antibiotics kick in then give it another go 😊

Hi Stellie, you may well need to give it more time than that. Rig is right, you should not run with a chest infection. The run will wait, you take care and get better. When you start running again, listen to your body it will tell you how you are. 😀

Sorry you're still not feeling well, rest up this is going to be a lifelong change so you've got plenty of time to get back to it.

I have experienced several delays as well and feel your frustration. You are committed, you will get back to it. Give your body a chance to heal up and you'll fare much better. :)

Once you get out there, give w2r1 a go! You might be surprised that it goes well, and if it doesn't, well then try again or head back to w1. There's no medal for finishing in the prescribed 9 weeks, and I think it's less common for people to finish within 9 weeks than to take longer!

Thank you for that. I was hoping to get out there and crack on with it. Unfortunately my body is older than my mind!!

I also spent a few weeks on crutches 2 years ago after falling down steps and almost breaking both ankles. They still give me hassle now especially after a 12 hour shift lol.

I fully intend to do it even if it does take a bit longer x
