So glad I almost forced my 12 year old daughter to come out again as we both felt great for completing this run. Was wondering if anyone else runs with their dogs? 🐕

I gave my dog another try this morning and confirmed he will be left at home for the remainder of the programme. Perhaps he can come on some post-grad runs when I have more time, but when I'm trying my best to get through a run interval and he decides to change which side he's on, go for a poop, yank hard or lolly gag behind... NOPE. Today I circled back home and ditched him in the middle of the session. He needs some dedicated leash re-training time, which isn't going to happen during c25k. A shame, because I know he absolutely loves it.
I try and run with two dogs, but after multiple toilet stops and yanking on the lead, plus the menace of other dogs plaguing mine, I think I will leave mine at home and try when I am more of a seasoned runner ( if that ever happens) Glad it’s not just me!
Oh gosh, yes and if they're yanking that can cause you to change your stride and heel strike which can hurt quite a bit.
I've heard that tying the leash around your waist is better than holding it in your hand and have seen some runners doing this, and that you can get them used to it around the house. Apparently this technique is sometimes used to re-train dogs that have decided they're the boss, just hook them onto your waist and go about your routine... so maybe I'll give it a go and hopefully when I take pity on him and take him out on a run again he's ready to take my lead...
My neighbour has 4 dogs (!!) and doesn't take any of them when I see her out for a jog.
