Well yesterday we did our first post-graduate run - a nice short one. To try out the C25K+ podcasts and get a feel for our 'cadence' as my activity watch has it (steps per minute) fits with our speed etc we tried the Speed one, which is the shortest of them.
It was good - very interesting and wife and I running to the same rhythm for once gave a lovely companionly (that is a word, I checked!) feeling - a kind of warm glow that reinforced the positive vibes of us running post-graduation. I'm not sure my wife entirely agreed - she thought we were like Star Wars storm troopers jogging in step out of a landing craft!
Much shorter than our recent runs but seems to have paid off - we are feeling a bit of muscle ache today so must have done something right!
Current idea is to alternate speed and w9 for a few weeks to see if we can gradually lift our pace a little and then move to the other C25K+ ones which are longer.

I’m doing much the same as you, mixing up doing the three podcasts (stepping stone, stamina, speed) with just running for 30 mins and I do believe I’m getting marginally quicker as a result. Imagine reasonably fit tortoise as opposed to ancient tortoise. Anyway yesterday for the first time I managed 4 k after weeks of 3.6, 3.5 etc and it took 33 mins and was doable. So once again, the programme works! All the best to you both.
