I was just wondering what everyone listens to while running 🏃♂️ in terms of music?? I’m listening to the Grease soundtrack at the moment but don’t tell anybody as I’m 48 years old and work in the building trade!!!#guiltypleasure
What you listening to??: I was just wondering... - Couch to 5K
What you listening to??
Er.... Don't laugh but today's run was to a 1980's mix!! Starting with Matthew Wilder... Ain't nothing gonna break-a my stride.... classic!! Normally though I use an app called Rock My Run which has a lot of continuous tracks and also allows you to adjust the speed of each track to match your running pace which I really like
I just asked something very similar two days ago, got lots of interesting music which I’ve added to my playlist - you might get some good ideas from that thread too My favourite run song is Dirt on my Boots by Jon Pardi (country).
I'm running to the greatest showman soundtrack 😊
Me too! It’s been just about the right length for my week 4 runs. Fortunately I don’t have enough puff to sing and run!!!!
I bet that’s brilliant!
Tell me more! 😁 🏃♂️
Music doesn’t do it for me so im listening to a podcast that was recommended by a running group im part of, its called ‘my dad wrote a porno’ it really makes the time fly by xx
But doesn't your laughing disrupt your rhythm 😂
I listened to the first one on a run a couple of weeks ago and I didn’t get on with it. Im not sure if it’s my type of humour and also when I went along the main road I couldn’t hear it because of the traffic noise. It doesn’t matter so much with music. Maybe I’ll give it another try on a quieter route and give my funny bone a dust off😄.
ABBA, billy idol, madness, guns n roses, lily allen, the cure .... bit of a mix really!
Wonderful! I listen to hard and fast beats during normal work outs but bring it back down to Josh Groban stages for running so I don’t go too fast. Might try your guilty pleasure though. I love Grease!
I really struggle to run along to music as I just want to sing along so a friend recommended running to classical music... it's very relaxing, although I may have to try the podcast idea 😁🏃♀️
The greatest showman soundtrack does it for me, or daily mix off Spotify. I’m going to go to podcasts though as I think they’re better, like being read a goodnight story , more soothing and supportive!
I like a good variety! I have made a few playlists with songs I like! Such a mixture!
I use Spotify and recently downloaded “Acoustic oldies but goodies” which I like! I normally prefer my own choices rather than a given list!!
I like Running commentary podcast too for a wee change! I find listening to people talking takes my mind off running even though they are talking about running!! But I enjoy the humour!! 😀
“Acoustic Rock “ latest Spotify list!!
I can't run without music and last nights run was to Anoebis - Boom Festival 2016 (goa trance). I probably should listen to something more befitting my age (61) but that's my guilty secret!
I have only just stopped listening to the W9 podcast, although I “graduated” some weeks back. I have put together a very eclectic playlist of appropriate songs which I’m currently using and adding to as I think of more. Some highlights:
Naked by Reef
Ain’t it a sin; Charles Bradley
S.O.B.; Nathaniel Rateliff
Joker and the Thief; Wolfmother
Hi Dave, i went through the music on my phone ansd made a playlist of fast tracks ( motorhead, some punk rock etc). I play it on 'shuffle' so i dont know what track is next. Definitely keeps me going. You need a lot if tracks though or it gets repetative.
Nike running app pod casts 🤔 but currently Bob Marley and Beady Eye 😎
Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson solo stuff, Royal Blood, Florence and the Machine and some Arctic Monkeys. 🤘
My absolute fave at the mo is The Source and Candi Staton’s You got The Love, which was covered by Florence and the machine
It’s a belter
I love 70’s 80’s my era x
I've made a running play list. Oh god how cheesy does that sound!!
I just chose songs with a beat that I thought I'd be able to run to. Not too fast to bring on a heart attack but too slow that I'm not motivated.
Couple of examples...Robert Miles/Children. Jennifer Lopez/waiting for tonight. The one I'm ashamed to admit to is Kidd Rock/ So Hot.....my guilty pleasure 😂😂.
Will be looking through these replies now for inspiration.
I have gold radio on line blasting as it's just continuous music , can't beat it ..
Danny zooko
I have just switched to podcasts I find I can lose myself in these and just concentrate on keeping going and I also find the time flys by
Started with U2, it's a beautiful day and finished with Tina Turner,Proud Mary .
Week7run2 done.🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
I found a Running playlist on Apple Music and I’m tailoring it more to my liking
I like podcasts by electronic DJ's. No pauses between songs, but some voice-over by the DJ now and then. Here are a couple:
CLUBLIFE
Group Therapy: Above and Beyond
I have been listening to George Michael, Simply Red, Adele, my hubby worries when I have music on running as he thinks I am not paying attention to the roads, if he is in the house when I go out and run, he is on pins till I get home awwww haha
pulled a rock playlist together and put it on shuffle never heard of half the tracks but find the strong beat really helps with my stride pace keeping it consistent for a song at a time
Gosh this is really inspirational, I have so many ideas now that I’m going to try, definately the podcasts 😀. Sometimes i listen to music, other times i just love the sound of nature as I run around a local country park. I tend to listen to Absolute radio for a mix of rock, indie, 80s and 90s music, also love to chill out though to mellow tracks like Air and Zero 7. I use to listen to Zombie run to, must get back into that, does anyone know of any other running game apps??
Mr blue sky, September, parisienne walkways, enter sandman, and some nightcore. Bit of a mix...
Sounds of the 60's with Tony Blackburn or Pick of the Pops on the BBC Sounds app
