Another great big hurdle overcome this morning – the idea of running for 20 minutes without stopping. Even in the car on the way to the beach, I was questioning if I could actually do this.
It was another beautiful morning, but chillier than the last couple of days, and in the five minute warm up walk, my arms were cold, but once I’d started running I soon forgot about that.
I would say that the first five minutes were the worst, maybe because it was colder(?) and getting to the halfway point seemed to take quite a while, but once I’d turned around at the bell, the second ten minutes definitely went quicker and by the time the two minutes left message came, I was amazed that I was really close to doing this.
I’ve never before experience the sheer exhilaration that comes from finishing exercise, but today once I’d done the WHOLE 20 minutes, I felt fantastic and so incredibly proud of myself – looking back to week one when I struggled with 60 seconds at a time, it really does show that determination and sticking to the programme really do work!
