Actually feel like a runner ๐Ÿ˜Š

I completed W6R3 - 25 min continuous running - last week, but really struggled. I couldnโ€™t seem to get into any sort of rhythm, I struggled to breathe and my legs just felt really heavy. I slowed down on the treadmill for the last bit and did get to the end (partly thanks to my lovely husband running on the next treadmill to me, and shouting encouraging comments when he saw me struggling), but I did doubt that I would get much further. Since then Iโ€™ve done W7R1 and R2 - both 25 mins - and they were a completely different experience. I found the first 5 mins hard, still, but after that I seemed to find my stride, my breathing was more under control and I felt strong ๐Ÿ’ช. Amazing! When Jo Whiley suggested that I increase my speed for the last minute, I turned the treadmill up a notch or two and went for it. I even smiled when she suggested a banana at the end ๐Ÿ˜€. Donโ€™t get me wrong, I was still sweaty and out of breath when I finished, but I had the biggest grin on my face.

I struggled to run for a minute in the beginning, and can now run for 25. To anyone who is just starting out, stick with it, slowly and steadily, and you will progress and see results. This programme really does work! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I was just about to reply to your post ๐Ÿ˜Š. I struggled with week 6 altogether - after the euphoria of running for 20 mins, it just seemed to become really difficult again, and I began to doubt that I would be able to carry on. Stick with it, though, because W7 has been a bit of a revelation for me.Hoping that itโ€™s the same for you, too!

Amazing what the body can do when you just let it do what it was designed to do!
