Had to stop running

I got to day 1 of week 7 and have had to stop. Pain in my hip, ankles, knees and neck.

I’ve taken a week out and going to try again tomorrow. Going back to 5 warm up, 10 run, 3 walk and 10 run.

Fingers crossed! 🏃‍♀️

Slow and steady... try to land gently too... warm up well and stretch well after:)

It might be worth doing some strengthening exercises on your non-running days. Squats and lunges are good for building up strength in your joints (ask Rignold he's an expert at Sqwats), or try the Strength and Flex exercises.

Thanks. I’ll try that.

Have your shoes been recommended by a specialist and do you have adequate support/insoles?

Before l got injured my hips, knees and ankles also hurt. None of that should happen, running through pain is a warning sign.

Not be a specialist no. I’ve been running for weeks. I think I may have been doing too much too soon.

You should do gait analysis, often the problem lies there. Any good sports shop will offer that service, try and google your nearest. Not very expensive but it can do you a lot of good.

They found out that my body was completely out of sync and tune with all known laws of physics, which essentially caused my aches, then pains, then bad injuries, the worst being the ankle one which l picked up on W9R3, right at the end.

Once I fixed my gait, got proper shoes and took up strengthening exercises all those issues simply disappeared.

Good luck!

Wow I’ve never heard of gait analysis! Il definitely investigate.

So frustrating when you’ve nearly finished the training.

Thanks again
