Not going to let a Chest infection and Laryngitis stop me!

Knew something was brewing, as did not feel I had the energy to do the planned week 8 run 2 this morning. Have been feeling a bit off for about 10 days, but have managed to keep going through that. However, no run this morning, but did complete a brisk 2.5 mile walk before work, so not a total loss. Will see what tomorrow brings now, but will certainly try and get it done by the beginning of next week. Antibiotics should improve things in a few days.

Be careful Caro, chest infections can be very nasty, my last one because I ignored it took me 2 months to get over, they should be treated sensibly. Take things easy, take your meds and drink lots but be kind to your body. Your lungs will appreciate it and you will recover quicker. My lungs are better now but it took from October until January before I could even contemplate running again, don't make the same mistake I made. Hope you feel much better soon.

Yes do take care, I agree with Oldgirl. It is so frustrating not being able to run, especially when you are so close to the finish line. I hope you will be recovered really soon, rest well and perhaps consider a day or two off of work ;) x

Hope you feel better soon...take it easy and let your body heal...

Better to rest and look after yourself until you feel better. Best wishes.

Agree with the others about resting - but if you find that going for a walk helps you feel better, then it will also help maintain your fitness.

Hi all and thanks for the replies. Am feeling much better today and my voice is returning! Was going to attempt a run this morning, but staying in bed a bit longer won. So far I have run this time on a treadmill and I did mention to te otehr half that perhaps he might like to get his bike out and come with me on a run in the morning! Need to move off treadmill and get outside now, especially as the weather is improoving.
