Week 2 Run 2 done last night, this time both my boys came along to keep me going. There really are some little victories. My cardio system is improving all the time run after run they are responding and I genuinely feel great about this.
My issues continue to be with my lower legs, tight calves and for the first time last night I had a sharp pin prick like pain in my right knee below the knee cap. This occurred during the 4th repetition so I had to back off and walk the rest of the 90 seconds. This was on a down hill section and I was being very careful. Managed to gingerly complete the 5th rep.
No pain this morning and my lovely wife rubbed the cream into my calves last night and they feel better than the first week.
Hopeful that run three tomorrow will restore some confidence.
Not giving up. This group is amazing for support, each little message really helps, knowing others are doing the same or have been through this motivates me to keep going and keep updating. Onwards .... 😀

Well done on keeping going. Since I started the couch to 5k (I’m on week 8, day 3) I have been full of aches and pains, my knees, feet, back, calves etc etc. I think it’s just your body adjusting to doing some exercise and moving in ways it hasn’t done for a while.
Have your tried doing some stretches after you’ve been out running? I’ve found this helps.
Check this out if you have not done so. A great deal of sound tried and tested advice.
Well done you...keep it slow and steady.. and remember, aches and pains are expected..but real pain. and you will know the difference... is something to take note of
