My son (26) and I (53) just completed W7R1. I can't believe I was able to run for 25 minutes straight! When I contemplate how close I was to fainting/puking/having a heart attack after W1R1, I realize how phenomenally far I've come.
I've never been a runner. I was one of those Amazonian women who was steered into shot put and wrestling in high school. To feel comfortable running and watching the lean muscle replace my abundant fat is so inspiring!
We're still doing the treadmill as our northern Canadian winter just won't quit this year (another 30 cm of snow over the weekend), but supplementing with snowshoeing every day as we're doing maple syrup.
Once I complete the 9 weeks, I'll bump up the incline on the treadmill...then hopefully I'll be prepped for my first outdoor run when we can finally see what's under the snow!

Congratulations to you both, especially when you can hardly get outdoors.
What fantastic progress you’ve made, here’s wishing the Canadian spring is just around the corner for you
Week 7 was my favourite, suddenly felt that maybe, just maybe, I could do this. Roll on Spring! There are a few Canadian's here and I am full of admiration of the way that you all keep running despite the loooong Winters
Wonderful - I see North Bay is getting park runs starting this month!! I have in-laws in North Bay and may suggest we go visit overnight on a Friday so I can do a parkrun in the morning (without having to drive 1.5h before hand).
