Went out for Run 3 this morning. Having never run before in my life, the first two were difficult but enjoyable. Then from the outset this morning, despite feeling good, I just couldn’t get anything working. I was really slow, legs were really heavy, my lungs didn’t want to open up and didn’t end up running the last 3 splits. Just one of those days?
Edit. Just to explain. I couldn’t complete the last three as the muscles in my shins totally wouldn’t work

Yes, just one of those days. The problem is when you start, a difficult run feels like a big deal. When you have been at it a while you will come to know that some runs go well and some do not. It might be that you are tired or not hydrated enough or some other unidentifiable reason.
Don't catastrophise and don't let it put you off. Head out for your next run with an open mind. Good luck
Thank you Helen I was a little bit glum about it initially as I really enjoyed Run 2. Then I was more puzzled as despite struggling and feeling I was running slower than R2 (I was certainly more cumbersome!) I’d covered more distance at half way. Certainly won’t put me off
What a shame, but you’ll be able to repeat this run after a day’s rest and carry on with the programme. We all have runs that don’t go well, and we just chalk them up as practice runs. Make sure you’re taking those running intervals slowly, remember it’s a gentle jog.
