Wk 8 run 2

Gosh, I'm getting there, there's light at the end of the tunnel now!!! Last night I did second of 28 mins non stop running!!! It was hard going to be honest!! It seemed like a good idea to change my route so I did part town/ part river bank, the problem was with my normal run I could work out pretty well how long I'd been running by getting to certain landmarks, this time I didn't have a clue, the first five minutes seemed to take forever and when I was getting towards the end of the run I had to take a detour because the river was starting to flood over the path, which meant going up my first incline (I've chosen easy, flat runs to start - plenty of time for hills when I've graduated!!!). Anyway, I did manage to stick with it, though it was touch and go whether I was going to stop but I gave myself a good talking to, swore at Laura and got to the end!!!! My right leg muscle is really hurting today though, the top of my leg right up into my buttock!!!! Ouch!!! Couple of days rest I reckon and then try run 3, hope it's a bit easier next time.

What do you find you are struggling with.🤔

Are you still going too fast.🤔

Good prep, hydration, nutrition , sleep, chilled , no tension, triggers or reminders. 🤔

Good brisk walk , minimum, get your heart pumping.🤔Go through your posture routine while walking.🤔

The run itself, posture, footfall, breathing, shoulders down and relaxed, slow enough to protect your strengthening joints and legs and slow enough to give your lungs a chance to get the extra oxygen and through your sticky phase.

Distract yourself with many many positive thoughts, and enjoy and do not think about the time.🤔it is all over too quickly.🌟👏👏

Thoughts , environment , what you have gained, what you want to share with the forum to help others, anything, family, love ones , everything. Your mind is doing the running , while your legs and lungs are just along for the ride.🌟👏👏

I got a stitch about 20 mins in, so slowed right down, that passed, but the top of my right leg was hurting too, as I was running I could see that my right leg twists inward, when I was a child I used to sprint, and sometimes my knees would knock together, I guess I need to get my gait checked, though not sure what to do about s twisting in leg though!!! Lol

Yes, now that I'm running longer, I'm gonna have to get it done! Didn't want to until I was sure I was serious about running, I know what I'm like!!! Thanks for that.

You must give yourself the very best equal load distribution and cushioning effect to your inevitable impact of your footfall.

Make sure you do not overstride and kiss the ground gently with your footfall under your hips, until you eliminate any out of balance forces with your new shoes and following GA.🤔🌟👏👏
