So today I said goodbye to Michael and hello to Myself for my first post C25K run. No more talking in my ears, telling how long’s left or if to pace myself or not!
I was slightly nervous I must admit, but during the run I could sense when and where I needed to pace myself etc, with just my playlist coming through my headphones.
Yesterday I planned a new route on Strava, a route that measured exactly 5K and a route that started from where my 5 minute warm up walk would end.
The plan was to run my new route and see how long it took without any form of clock or countdown going off in my head.
The run and new route both felt good and before long I was thinking Michael, Michael who??
It felt great to be running alone with just my music and my thoughts and then I reached the end of my 5K route, stopped my Strava app and started my 5 minute cool down walk.
Checked later and discovered I’d completed 5K in 29:54.
Extremely pleased with that and here’s to my next solo effort!!!! 🏃♂️👏🏻🍾🥂
