From a low to a high.

So today started of on a major low, by 10am I had talked myself out of going for my run, firstly, cos I felt really low and fed up and secondly, cos I didn’t think I’d be able to do it and I don’t want to the feel defeated.

I went to my local SW group, in my running stuff, so I had no excuse to go home and went straight from group (after finding out I had lost 4lb in the week 😃) obviously the more I lose, the easier to the running will get 🤞🏼

Normally I’d run along a trail, but by this time it was too dark so I had to stick to main roads, I surprisingly, enjoyed it so much more, I didn’t think I would, I thought I’d feel judged, but I didn’t care! I successfully completed W4R1. I didn’t push myself too hard, but managed at a steady pace to run when I was told to run and walk when I was told to walk! 😁 WINNER !

Not sure who recommended I buy a buff, but thank you very much, it is an absolute god send and favourite buy of the year so far! 😃😃😃

I also noticed that I run better when my music is turned up higher so I can’t hear myself breath, does anyone else do this? 🙄 I’ve come to conclusion if I can hear myself breath then I concentrate on it too much, if I can’t hear my breathing, it comes more naturally. 😂

So what started on a low day, turned out to end really positive and left me feeling good! Just goes to show, that sometimes you need to give yourself a big push and the reward will follow.

Hope I haven’t bored anyone too much! 🙈

Happy running to you all. Hope you all have a positive week ahead. 😃 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️

Xx

lovely post and well done! I really do think that almost the hardest thing with this is just getting out of the house, and then ignoring the first 10 mins of internal silly voices. "ooh that hurts, I'm tired etc etc. Keep on running!

Absolutely, once I’ve got my music on, got the warm up walk out of the way and I’m actually running, I don’t care, I feel so much better for it!! Xx

Great post! The tougher beginnings usually end up very well ;-) Well done for fighting against the urge not to go. Now you know you can beat any gremlins, enjoy your next runs!

Well done Lisalou, both on the running and the weight loss - 4lb off in a week is amazing! You must be feeling great.

I like loud music to drown out my breath - hearing myself breathe is so off putting; it always sounds worse than it feels! And glad you love the buff. Mine has really got me through some super cold early morning runs these last few months. Plus I like feeling like a ninja when I have it pulled up over my nose. 😂
