I did my 50th parkrun yesterday and just want to encourage all C25kers, especially those at the beginning of their journey, to think about parkrun. Find out if there is one near you, and you absolutely don't need to wait till you can run a whole 5k to get started. There is always a "Tail Walker" and you'll beat them anyway!
It's a great way to have company on some of your runs. Even though many of us enjoy the solitude of running on our own, it's good to have a change.
People don't care whether you are an elite athlete or you're walk/jogging while pushing a buggy with your dog on a lead beside you. Everyone is equally welcome. It's a very accepting thing, parkrun. Much like this forum actually.

Hear hear! 🏃♀️👏, well done Anne, parkrun is for everyone.....love it, love it, love it..😍....wear that milestone t-shirt with pride (when they get the new stock.....😉) .....now.......just got to keep going for the next one.....😂
I would never have gone on to do a HM without this forum and my parkrun friends...🐌.....
I’ve just completed my first Week 3 run and Parkrun is actually my aim *when* I graduate. I want to be able to run with my 12 year old son who does Cross Country for the local athletics club. It will help him practice for next season and help me get my fitness back. Really looking forward to that first one!
Well done Anne! I love parkrun and have even recruited my boss who did get 5th on Saturday! We had fun splashing through the deep puddles and facing the arctic breeze! Love the community feel! 😊
I couldn't agree more - both C25K and park run are brilliant. Still recovering from injury and my wk6r3 run last Saturday was a parkrun but there were no walkers (its a small park run in France) and I ran the 25 minutes with the "tail walker" ! I finished second from last as the tail walker is timed but am I bovvered ? Its certainly different running with someone else as it tends to distract you from your aches and pains. Currently on 12 park runs and would love to get to 50 - well done !
Congratulations AnneDroid! 50 is a fantastic achievement- hope you’re going to get your 50 T-shirt 😀
I love Parkrun - such a great mix of people and everyone so polite and encouraging. I’m on the IC at the moment so was marshalling at my local Parkrun.
Brilliant! Well done - I love Parkrun too and love the atmosphere of running amongst others, and being free to try other Parkrun's with different challenges too. Good luck for the next 50
