Slight snowfall meant I managed to get family out to the woodland to walk while I literally ran a rings around them. Was aiming for a bit of a recovery run after a decent 5k on Thursday evening.
Woodland running is a new experience for me and a good one I think - though the views and distractions (including two deer and a hawk today) have meant that on both occasions I've ended up loosing my intended path. The meandering isn't bad (found some lovely flattish, tree rootless paths as well as a lovely clearing) but meant that the end of my run was very up hill and boggy - so I had to walk the last 5 mins of my intended 30.
Still a good week all round with some new routes discovered and despite the hills and uneven ground my knees are still feeling good π.
Oh and taking the family along today means that the first ever photo of me running is now in existence (though mightily relieved it's not a close up!)

My shoes (and leggings) are covered in mud. Trail shoes might have helped with the mud I guess. I always run outside and can't wait for lighter drier conditions as my evening runs all have to be on tarmac so I can see where I'm going and my daytime runs can be a bit muddy.
Lovely! I have only ran in woodland a few times, but love it. Feels very adventurous and you have to concentrate on the surface you are running on. A good work out and the time flies!
I love the picture! You look intrepid and focussed. ππββοΈππββοΈ
Ha ha - I am liking intrepid and focussed but have to confess this is me just setting off at the end of my warm up walk by the end the words feeble and mess would be more appropriate π. Am beaten by hills at the moment.
