So what is a new graduate π©βπ supposed to do on a non-running day except go shopping? Week 5 I bought some very colourful running shoes as they were recommended, comfortable and in the sale. Today I went mad and decided to have almost matching leggings. Think I might be out running v early tomorrow tying to get used to something not designed to fade into the background

That badge is going to dazzle folk too Well done you...many happy runs
Nice one BJ56... I may have to give in and change from my black ninja outfits soon.. my family think itβs hilarious that I run in only black cos I tho k no one will see meπ€£π€£π€£
But our fabulous panther ju-ju- runs in black... well, when she is not running in tiny gold shorts that is!
Ah, the shoes and lycra bug has bitten! Itβs the slippery slope from now on. Love your new gear π
Fabulous! Wishing you many happy runs in them.
I like your style and a great way to spend a non-running day π
What are your new running shoes?
Hi Fleetfoot. They are Asics GT1000-5. Recommended for me after a gait analysis due to overpronation. They are also wider in the toe area than the newer GT1000-6. I bought them after W5R3 when I went for a gait analysis. I have to admit - I felt rather self conscious for the first few runs in them - but - they are very comfy and I got to graduation without any injuries (although maybe that was more related to perfecting the act of slow
Thanks for that BJ56. I had a gait analysis yonks ago when I took up running the first time and can't imagine I've lost my overpronation! Invested in a pair of Asics prior to starting out on the C5K escapade. They don't seem to be as 'springy' as my previous Sauconys but they'll do.
Wk4 run2 later - the hills are my friends...and repeat!!
good luck. my key learning - be kind to yourself and focus on how far you have come with every run. Even when starting W1R1 - you had already come so far compared to the previous day, If a run feels tough - just compare where you are now with how you felt on that first day. Assuming that you are not a secret Olympic athlete - there will always be people faster and better - but why care?
Iβm loving coral and black at the mo too, with lots of reflective bits on to show up on dark runs.
Love your new shoes! Thems good uns πππββοΈ
