I thought i was going great guns. Completed all the runs upto week 7. Although the last 2 runs of week 7 were on snow and harder than normal. I had slight knee pain on the inside of my right knee towards the bottom. Not bad when waĺking but i tried a run today and was too painful to do it. I hope it is not to serious, anyone any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Go to discover in your account page and go for A-Z and livewell.Loads of recommendations on knee pain exercises, Rice , Price , etc etc .

Good luck with your searches, should at least give you some ressurance and guidance.

Also read any recent replies from Mentor IT's advises, and FAQ Posts, most knee pain as a result of impact which you have just incurred. GA and footwear now important now you are into more frequent longer runs.In fact recommends the GA etc at week4 ? best out of the equation. I have to stop a niggly grumbling knee and still do not have GA & shoes and now start wk8 on Thursday.

I am a senior novice, 74, and even check my daily routine to avoid as much point loading situations that can trigger niggles. The general recs are keep moving by using knee pain exercises, even mild paracetamol, creams . sprays. ice packs , never generally heat , providing of course there is no major damage and no major swelling good luck.

Try these... many of us find them useful..the runs are getting longer, so your rest day strength and stamina exercises are even more important.

Warm up well and stretch really well after the runs:) Try to land lightly too..kissing the ground with your feet is what I call it. It works... :)

Listen to your body and if the pain persists then do get it checked out :)

Overstriding, heelstriking and making heavy contact with the ground are major contributors, so slow down.

Are you wearing good running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop? If not, your shoes may be contributing also.
