Well, keep up the C25k runs, slow and steady, and consolidate as best you can running 3 x week and you should be fine. And there is no shame in taking walk breaks during a 5k race - some experts even swear by it! It’s nice to have a goal! And this is definitely an achievable one! Go Sparkin’! x

When do you graduate from the C25k programme?

How many runs to complete at 3 per week?

Nothing wrong with planning for end of April providing you are maybe not at the start of a 9 week programme.

I noticed some people use a Sat park run for one of their 25, 28 or 30 min runs and when they are doing that, presumably walk the rest to finish the 5k.

If you are at a point where you are confident that you can see the summit, ie past wk 5,and you feel you are buzzing, then plan away, can you withdraw for any reason anyway.

You should believe,I am sure you have demonstrated that to yourself, the fact that your planning it.It is by no means a large step up , if you ignore pace and times.

your not attempting a world record or are you.

Even your name gives a clue.Well done and good luck.

Thankyou! Yes I feel it’s achievable...no world record attempts just yet no! My username is just my first initial and my surname but hopefully I will apply ‘Sparkin’ to my running in future too! 😎😂

Sounds like a great challenge 👍

Great idea a target run is always a good way of keeping going. You’ll be ready I am sure.

Thankyou...yes it feels like a manageable goal, no harm in giving it a go and if I end up walking part of it then so be it, not the end of the world😊

Absolutely agree a try is better than no try. But you’ll do it I am sure, you e plenty of time to work up to it and get comfortable
