W5R2-abandoned by Jo!

Sooo difficult to get out the house this morning. Managed to set off at 7am convincing myself “now or never” as snow forecast and Beast from the East on the way!

Managed not to fall on light covering of snow but half way through Jo left me . Thought she had gone quiet so I looked at my phone and it had died in the cold weather. Second time this has happened so must keep my phone in my pocket. Does this happen to anyone else?

Managed to make up the second half of the run probably doing more running than needed .. just to be sure.

Great sense of achievement when run completed . Still buzzing and Jo is back . 😊

Great work, Run-Granny-Run! To leave a warm bed to run in minus temperatures really does show commitment. :-) And tech failures – aaaagh. We all get them from time to time, it is frustrating. Impressed with how you dealt with it though!

I ran at 6:15am and it was -6 degrees. I actually really enjoyed it; once warmed up, I stayed a great temperature for running and felt so exhilarated when I got in. Best hot shower of my life! No snow (yet) where I am, but some due, so I wanted to try and get a good run it while I could!

Happy running to you and stay safe! (I never run in snow on pavements or ice! Too dicey).

Thanks Sadie-runs. Yes even though it was cold I was cosy doing my run. It will be nice when the spring comes though .

Glad I ran this morning as more snow tonight . Always a nice feeling to know it’s done.

Happy running to you too

Good for you RGR. I'm supposed to be doing w5r1 today but I'm sick. I haven't decided if I'm going to go for it anyway or not. I don't think the three 5min runs will be too bad.

I am not a morning runner. Especially not in winter! Maybe in the summer I'll give it a try.

Hope you feel better soon and can get out again . The 5 min runs were fine , you will be ok . The weather isn’t helping .. we will be amazing runners in the spring!!

Let me know how it goes for you

Well done, @Run-Granny-Run! Do you have an iPhone? They definitely don’t like cold and shut down if they get too chilly; keeping it up a sleeve or in a pocket will be fine for future runs :) As long as you don’t get too cold and shut down, that’s the main thing! ;)

Thank you. Yes I do have an iPhone and it clearly does not like the cold. I didn’t know this before so will need to keep it in my pocket . 👍
