Terrified! Run 1 done

Did it after delaying, read the supportive posts on here then went for it. First 90 second run, didn't do it too, many people and dogs appeared (from nowhere?) second one started it a bit late think I managed 60 seconds at least, pleased with self headed towards the football pitches, grass, nice and firm after the dry cold weather, felt better than Tarmac. On a roll now, left earphone won't stay in, hard to hear Sarah with the breeze whistling a little through the bare trees, that was the excuse for missing the fourth run. Realising I can pick my knees and feet up and enjoying it. I couldn't hear Sarah at all now due to my heavy breathing so guessed timing and set visual goals, to the penalty area next pitch, to that tree then a little bit further. Happy with the red face I've got and that my heart and lungs have worked harder than usual. Nothing hurts and I'm up for Wednesday. New earphones needed.

Thanks for the support, like the "accountability" too.

Well done, give yourself a pat on the back. We all have to start somewhere and as I keep saying your lapping the person on the couch!

Well done BigAnn! Honestly, no one is looking at you as you imagine they are. Most people are wrapped up in their own bubble. If they do notice you they are probably thinking ‘Blimey I could never do what she’s doing - good on her’. Just listen to your voice coach, believe that you can do it and you will. It doesn’t matter how slow you are - I keep saying if I went any slower I’d be going backwards. But it’s still running and the pace will improve I’m sure.

Well done on taking the plunge.

The guide to the plan has lots of advice healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

There is no need for fear at any stage, you can only fail this programme if you give up and return to the couch.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done for getting out! And welcome on this journey that is much more than only discovering you can run: enjoy yourself (even if it's not that easy on those first runs) and you will do it, no doubt!
