Hello! I'm brand new on here! Just completed week 2 of couch to 5k and so far so good! Dipping my toe back into jogging after a huge gap, sadly due to bad knees. Anyone else managing to run with chondromalacia patallae? It's a bit scary; don't want a set-back but have missed it enormously!!! 😊
Bad knees??!!: Hello! I'm brand new on here... - Couch to 5K
Bad knees??!!

Welcome.
I don't know what your condition is, but had dodgy knees myself for many years prior to running. Glucosamine with chondroitin has been my lifesaver. I could never have started running without.
There is lots of general advice in the guide to running c25k healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
To keep impact minimal stay slow, keep your foot fall under your body, not out in front and avoid heel striking. Having good quality running shoes fitted after a gait analysis at a specialist running shop can make all the difference.
Good luck.
Basically runners knee. Its the reason I had x-rays and discovered my arthritis. And it's what taught me that you can't just go out and run for miles after decades of inactivity. (Because it seems like only yesterday I was in my twenties!). And the reason that, after a suitable recovery period, I found this program. C25K has given me lots of aches and niggles since but my knees have got better and better.

Take out IannodaTruffe 's advice....there is a lot of really useful information there
Also , maybe take some expert advice on your condition.. although I expect you have done that...Spme interesting info here?

Thanks for your kind reply. I have a diagnosis after extensive tests and even surgery to one knee which went terribly wrong. Now after 6 years of recovery i'm desperate to ease back into jogging having got my legs strong with yoga and swimming. That's a great link thanks!
