Winter Training Camp Done

I set myself a mini target - to see if I could beat my previous daily streak kilometrage (if that is indeed a word).

Morning ju-ju- , your good words of advice about keeping it steady and not doing too much has paid off. In my 5 day training camp (well 6 actually, but I tapas trained the first day rather than running trained!!) I have run just shy of 46km. That’s a mean of 9km a day - timing was so slow about 50% slower than my normal km rate, but I take that as a good thing, not. a negative.

Great things about Winter Training camp in Spain

the sun

the warmth

the tapas (patatas bravas - who knew there were at least 3 differing types and all scrummy?)

Oh and I joined Rignold’s challenge too, so when not running I was stretching bits that hadn’t been stretched in a long time.

The 16th was my toughest day - jancanrun.com/2018/02/16/16...

My WinterTraining Camp has got my year’s kms up to 257 and that helps in my 2018 quest for 2018 kms.

Rest day today, although Rignold’s challenge awaits when I get home.

Happy running all....

I think you must be top of that mapmyrun challenge really - I had a look at all the fakers at the top! You are, as ever, doing spectacularly *waves pompoms*

in reply to icklegui

I thought there were fakers too! 4000 kilometres already.... what tosh thanks for the pom-poms 👍

Still they are only fooling themselves🤡

That's brilliant Jan. My dad had dementia and I know how awful it is. Such a great cause so a big well done to you, you superstar 💪💪💪

Thank you - when it gets tough I remind myself of the big reason why...and you all help keep me going. Back running tomorrow - lovely rainy cold London. Mm wonder how that will go?

My goodness, you are on fire. I don't know how you do it.

I'm also doing Rignold's Lenten Challenge. Have you done the lying knee raises or the leg raises today. I couldn't face the leg raises so stuck with the knees, but I have done three sets of squats as well, and I ran 12.5km this morning, so I think I'm doing ok.

Life seems to be very hectic at the moment so may need to put of the Persevering Challenge Trophy award ceremony for a little while. Then I'm hoping you'll give me a blow by blow account of all the tapas involved in your winter training. ;-)

Just got in - I read his post this morning whilst we were packing and I thought ‘bugger that’ as it is, my core muscles feel as though they’ve been steamrollered. So I think us PCT crew will limit ourselves to the knee raises. I’m impressed with your run and exercises though. Tomorrow is my ‘long run’ day so I have the Hampstead via somewhere else run to do tomorrow. Blimey oh Riley it felt cold coming back after a 15 degree drop. You’re on for PCT whenever you’re free. :)

Remarkable! I can only dream about some day being like you (including the tapas-training) :)
