Hi All - new to C25K and new to the whole notion of "running". I've put running in speech marks because its probably more like a "slow hefty drag oneself along" kind of thing at the moment! I ride a motorbike and I'm not really bike fit - I need to improve my core strength as well as my health generally. Figured this is the place to start! On both "runs" I've had a pain in my left shin, is this normal when starting out?? Very painful!!

Run 2 of Week 1
Hey! I'm a new runner but I'm several weeks in, and I have definitely noticed increased endurance - it'll definitely get easier. Also, I have experienced leg/shin pain! I decided it was because I did a run two days in a row. I know fit runners, amateur marathoners, who can train every day, but I think it's too painful for my own legs....
Welcome to the forum.
Going nice and slow is the only sensible way for a new runner. Read the guide to the plan for more details healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You have to accept some aches and pains to start with but if you stay slow, keep footfall under your body, not out in front, try to avoid heelstrike and get the best shoes you can, preferably after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop, then you can minimise this.
Stretching after every run helped me nhs.uk/livewell/c25k/pages/...
Enjoy your journey.
