Week 6 done, on a treadmill, which was MUCH faster-is that normal?

Hi all, I just finished week 6 (again!) with a25 minutes jog, this time on a treadmill, as I'm in Minneapolis and it s blooming freezing! It's my first run on a treadmill for years,I usually jog outside with my dog, and it was so much faster than running outside that I'm flabbergasted! I'm usually doing 8:45-9 minutes a kilometer and this was 7.45/km!

If that usual? Is it because you're 'forced' to follow the treadmills pace? Is it because I'm jet lagged? Or am I just being a whimp outside and go slower than I can/should? Many thanks for any comments/ideas/explanations!

On a treadmill you go at the pace of the treadmill.

Thats what I thought - though admittedly I did not expect it to be so fast!

Did you not set it to your required pace?

I started with my standard pace, but then found it too slow - then sped it up, and then again...in the end I realised I was going much faster than I thought possible so far!

You can adjust the treadmill even during the run if you think it is going too fast. But, tell me, did you manage the 25 minutes at the faster pace? If you did, that should tell you something.

I did adjust it... But upwards! I started at my standard pace and realised I could do faster...and yes, it was the average that was a surprise. It probably means I can do faster than I thought I can...
