Week 6 Run 1 😳

So many people have said it’s harder than the dreaded 20 minute run 3 week 5 and I couldn’t believe that could be true. I mean it’s only 5/8/5 minutes....🤷🏼‍♀️

How wrong was I??

It was horrible!

From three minutes into the first run I wanted to give up and thought of nothing else until the ordeal was over.

It could possibly have been just ‘a bad day’, since I usually run after work in the evening. Saturday morning runs have never felt easy. Maybe I should avoid morning runs in future.

But the main thing is I did do it and I didn’t stop. Not even for a second.

Well done Jude...that is a tough run, and you did it😊...

Still eighteen minutes of running and as Rignold said the walk breaks are not a rest... this week really helps you focus I think, you know you can do it and its building you up to that third run of the week...

Good luck with R2..nice and steady.😊

Onwards and upwards...

I’ve certainly learned about pushing myself today!

That was my nemesis run too, but I had to re-do it, so I am always really pleased when people manage to do it nice and cleanly.

I think returning to intervals somehow you lose the run momentum and this week is a bit of a brain and run re-set exercise.

Well done for passing it with flying colours

Yes, I think you’re right. I’m thinking that it’s the psychology of the walk breaks that threw me. With the 20 minute run I knew what was ahead and had to push through that barrier only once to settle into the mindset of completing a long run. But today I assumed 5 minutes was easy, found it tough, had to walk again and start running back through that barrier. It was a killer!

Same for me except I didn’t complete it, so blooming well done!

Well done.

It is your longest workout to date, so that might explain it.

You did very well... many runs have got a bad reputation without cause... just keep it slow and keep it steady and you will be fine..

Just relax... move on slowly and let those new running legs begin to find their own happy pace:)
