To maximise my opportunities to run I could do it with baby in tow.. is it a necessity to have a running pram/buggy or could I do it with my standard pram? I guess it might be a bumpy ride.. so do the running one's have better suspension/wheels etc... im a novice!

Running buggy?

Safety wise... a running buggy is the best plan...

Go you !

Hi, I would suggest a running buggy. You might also want to look at a Facebook group called ‘run mummy run’ lots of advice on there from mums with young children, like this forum it’s very supportive and they have a second hand selling page. Good luck 😉

We have the outnabout buggy that were originally designed for running as it has pneumatic tyres and a lockable front wheel(it's a tricycle). They do a newer version with large wheels again and a handbrake on the push handle. I have tried running short periods with it and it works well. I wouldn't run with a normal buggy as I think they'd be too unstable at speed on small wheels and likely to tip over.

A couple of people bring a buggy to our local Parkrun, which is on quite rough ground. They do use a super duper type running buggy though, I couldn't see a 'normal' buggy being suitable for running.
