C25k with a buggy?

Does anyone have experience of doing c25k with a buggy? I was running in the mornings before the kids got up but darker mornings have scuppers that for now. Wondering if I can do it while one is at school and the other has her lunch time nap in the buggy don't really fancy any of the buggy fit etc around me. Any thoughts?

Hi, I reckon the early runs could be buggy friendly, maybe up to week 3 or 4? Depends on how heavy your buggy is too... Personally, I'm not sure the longer runs would be do-able with a buggy, but it's always worth a try!

I ran with buggy early on but it is harder so make sure your route is flat if you can but I stopped at week 5 when runs got longer as it just got too hard lol but my boy was 2 and my buggy was a big one so he would sleep comfy x ps he always went to sleep x good luck x

Depends on the type of buggy you have, but lots of people do it so of course you can, you can do anything you put your mind too, just be mindful of your route. Good luck

I sympathise as I have an almost three year old (next Saturday) and a five year old. My current plan is a long run on Sundays, a 20-25min run between dropping toddler at nursery and work and a reluctant run in the dark along a main road or on the treadmill.

Is there anyway you can blag someone to mind the baby for an hour in the day? Maybe a neighbour or relative?

I'm impressed that you could fit in a run before your kids got up. My little boy is always the first up in our house. It was 5am this morning... :(

I started c25k in October last year when my little one was 6 months. For the first couple of weeks I just used my normal buggy, but once I decided I enjoyed the program and wanted to complete it I followed some advice on here and got a 3 wheeler. I found one on eBay for £15, which was a great investment.

I always timed my runs for when baby would sleep and it worked really well right up to graduation and beyond.

It is certainly harder work with a buggy, but definitely doable. Plus on the days when you leave the pushchair behind you'll be amazed how fast and fit you are!!

I would say that now I have a toddler with shorter naps it is harder to get out with her, and I tend to run once they are finally asleep.

Good luck. I hope you find a way to keep running

There is someone at our local parkrun who runs with a buggy and that's 5k. Also a couple near me who run to the local park and round it. One runs alone to park whilst other runs with buggy. When they meet up the buggy runner takes child on swings whilst the other runs round park then they swop roles for run and run home :-)

I run witha a normal buggy with my 1 year 4 month baby. im currenly at the 8 week. I can't say it's easy but it help me not going to fast. And when I manage to run without the buggy, like someone said, I feel the difference, I feel really lighweight. I run in the street. My little girls is awake when I run, she enjoys the run plus I put her some music while I run, she likes it.
